Subject: Solid Show
First off nice recording and thank you for that. Second I was at this show and have been to many Furthur shows and I don't know if you guys got up to go to the bathroom during that "Unbroken Chain" but that was the crispiest jam I have ever heard during "Unbroken". "King Solomon's" was also sick. There were some slower points, but that's what makes these shows great. The highs and lows. I say we just enjoy what we have, it's a treat to see these guys any day.

Subject: Great Audience Recording of a fine show
The sound at the Dane County Coliseum was excellent and is captured in this great recording by Jeff Frank. Thank you for your pursuit of high quality recordings. It is so appreciated. I thought Russo and Chimenti were the stars on this night, especially during King Solomon's Marbles...the venue staff was,by far,the most laid back I have ever encountered at a show.

Subject: 1st show
This was my first Furthur show. They exceeded my expectations. I thought the playing was tight and energetic throughout. I enjoyed the whole thing a lot more than I thought I would. Joe Russo is a beast. I agree about "Must Have Been the Roses". Killer. I also thought the whole 2nd set was ON. Judging by reviews of all these shows - rockin' is definitely in the ear of the beholder. Great recording too. Thanks always to tapers!

I agree Niko, it wasn't the best. They really did give their all for rock and roll the previous night. I knew driving up to Madison that it couldn't match the energy and playing of Chicago.
It was well played for the most part but never really took off. Must have been the roses was the gem of the show, but there were other solid moments as well. You have to love seeing these guys play for the faithful. See ya in the spring!

This show sounds great and has a lot of energy. I haven't heard wang dang for some time. Nice to hear the miracle ending too.

First set song selection was pretty average (Wang Dang Doodle-come on), but John killed it on every song. Second set started great with China/Rider, but was a big let-down after that. They had a great chance to bust out on Viola but just butchered it-no cohesion at all. Bobby needs to get out of the way and let John go-he tried to play lead all night and basically took over the show. It's been a fun run for 25 years but that was it for me-what a great ride it has been. I have never been overly critical of shows but this one really let us down.

Subject: first furthur black muddy river !! ( i think ! )
i have been scratching my brain (and looking at set lists on otherones.net), trying to figure out what furthur has not offered us yet ... i am surprised at myself but i didn't think of this one !!!

must admit when i heard the opening notes i was pulling hard for johnny on the vox .... bobby should (IMO) give johnny the nod on every single jerry ballad ... let him keep loose lucy but the ballads ... bobby should hand them all to john.

anyway nice to hear another chestnut dusted off ......

Made for a great Sunday afternoon at home. That althea was great and I agree, let John go. He should play with Carlos Santana sometime that would be interesting.
